Gold Mirror Gibson pickguard set was made from high quality 1mm thick 100% solid brass. Brass plate was cut into shape, sanded and hand polished with 5 different polishing pastes to give it a gorgeously luxurious gold mirror finish, that looks like pure 999 gold.

The image of the Kraken octopus was transferred onto the polished brass plate, and then hand painted with scratch resistant crystal clear resin in 3D, to achieve a spectacular liquid glass effect. This set is a luxurious piece of jewelry for your Les Paul. Smaller parts of the set follow the pirate/marine theme: Jack boat plate has crossed bones in 3D, truss rod cover features smaller details of the octopus painted in 3D, and the poker chip is a compass, so you will never lose your way!

Maintenance: If you want it to keep looking like shiny gold, you just need to gently polish it with the finest car wax and a very soft cloth a couple of times a year, and then wash it in warm soapy water, to stop a potentially prolonged chemical reaction between your wax/polishing paste and brass. If, on the other hand, you would like the color of your brass to age and deepen, you can just leave time and the elements to give it a slightly deeper gold hue, which will later turn into a greenish-gold, and eventually into brownish, old brass look.
